Garda Sub Aqua Club

The Garda Sub Aqua Club (GSAC) has been in existence since 1964.

We celebrated our 50th birthday in 2014. The club is made up of Gardai, retired Gardai, family of Gardai and civilian members. The club was originally set up by serving Gardai but it is a recreational club funded totally by membership fees.

GSAC is based in Dublin with our clubhouse in Westmanstown and boat mooring in Dun Laoghaire. We currently have circa thirty members ranging from young to not so young, including snorkelers and scuba divers, Garda, retired Garda and civilians.

The Club is affiliated to the Irish Underwater Council (CFT - Comhairle Fó Thuinn) the national governing body for recreational underwater sports in Ireland, which in turn is a member of the World Diving Federation (CMAS - Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques). CMAS is the world federation of national diving organisations and operates in some 80 countries on all continents.

The qualifications you receive with GSAC under CMAS are recognised the world over.
